Tractor Agriculture will explain an important topic which covers the whole domain of this website. The topic is called What is Agriculture. Before jumping into other topics, it is important that i should explain this broad topic thoroughly.

I thought about writing this article before even https://www.tractoragriculture.com/ came into existence.

So, here I am in a position today to complete this article.

History of AgricultureThe word Agriculture is derived from Latin Word agricultura where ager means field and culture means cultivation. Agriculture in the past few decades has been a measure of increase in productivity and lesser labour requirements.

Some issues also affect the progress depending upon country.

The study of Agriculture is called Agricultural Science. Most of the Agriculture work was done by labour in the Ancient times. In the Industrial Revolution, the work done by labor was replaced by Agricultural Equipments. The major change in Agriculture Equipments occurred during the last century and has made remarkable improvements in the overall scenario.

What is Agriculture?

It is a Broad term and is also called as Farming or Husbandry. It is a process which includes cultivation of Plants, Animals, Organisms, any kind of Foods or Products that play role in sustaining Human Race. Agriculture has played a key role in the advancement of human civilization.

History of Agriculture

History of Agriculture is an important event and has played an important in mankind’s progress. These activities have been the determining factor in the past and are in fact the reasons behind a nation’s progress. Researchers have showcased different types of theories based on their observations.

The transition of Man from Stone Age Hunter to Domesticating Animals can be seen in the ancient observations. With the advancement of time, people started devising new techniques in their livelihood and new inventions came into picture. The different hypotheses in Agriculture that define this transition are summarized below.

  1. Oasis Hypothesis: This theory states that as the climate became drier, different communities came closer and animals were domesticated along with plantation activities. There is not much climatic proof regarding this theory.
  2. The Feasting theory states that agriculture was initiated by using power in bulk i.e. uniting large volumes of food resulting in advancement in technology.
  3. The Demographic Theory stated that people living in a particular geographical area requiring more food resulted in advancement. Different factors like social, economical create the drive for advancement.
  4. The Evolutionary Theory tells that it was an evolution in itself. Starting from domestication of animals, plants etc.
  5. The Levantine Theory remarked the preference variable i.e. some areas were well advanced than others and much suitable for domestication of animals, plants.
  6. The Domestication Theory tells that humans domesticated themselves and then animals, plants.

There is another theory which states that human race were afraid if living in one particular area due to attacks from others.

Agriculture has seen vast improvements in the different eras of history.

Tracing the exact origin can be a bit confusing as the Agriculture began in the era when writing was not yet a part of human lifestyle. Some archaeological sites in the West Asia and Africa show signs of wild plantations. Some rivers showcase signs of planned cultivation too.

The signs of sowing and harvesting were seen by 7000 BC in Mesopotamia and by 8000 BC Farming became regular process in the shores of Nile River. Recent signs have shown Farming started early in Greece, Cyprus & most parts of Europe.

Agriculture Equipment – Farm Implements – Agricultural Machinery

Agriculture Equipments are the utilities or Agricultural Machinery which supports the Farming Process. The most common Agricultural Machine can be a Tractor.
