If you are looking for a good Tractor Supply Company, you need to do apt market research before choosing preferred Tractor Parts specific to a Manufacturer.

Tractor can be considered as a Farm Vehicle which produces Power Work at a slow speed in the Agricultural Domain. The word Tractor is generally used as a replacement for Farm Tractor in most of the Agriculture Domain Countries like US, Canada, Slovenia, Serbia, Argentina etc. The Best Farm Tractors in the World & their parts are in great demand nowadays.

Tractor Supply History

The History of Tractor Supply and its supply process goes way back to the 19th century when Portable Engines were introduced i.e. Engines on Wheels lead the Farming Equipment for any Agricultural task. Later, Bar Engine was introduced and many Engineers did their research to enhance the Tractor Machine which resulted in great deal of experimentation. During the later part of 19th century, the much improved Tractor version was introduced and was widely accepted by one and all. The Steam Tractors were used in various ways during the earlier part of 20th century.

Gasoline Powered Tractor came into light and their improvement started happening with successive versions year after year. These Agriculture Machines were not much in demand during the initial stage but they gained public attention after these machines became affordable and much smaller in size.

Tricycle Tractor came into picture with the passage of time. It was only during the early part of 19th century that the Four Wheel Tractor Design became reality and immediately became the ultimate choice for people all over the world.

Tractor Classifications:

The Tractors being supplied right from the early years to the Modern Era can be divided into various Broad Categories. These classifications can be divided into:

  1. Two Wheel Drive Tractors
  2. Two Wheel Drive Tractors with some modifications.
  3. Four Wheel Drive or Track Tractors with little modifications.

The Old Farm Tractors presented the look of an open machine supported by two very big wheels. The other accessories can be classified as Front Axle, Single Seat, Steering Wheel, The Tractor Engine, 2 Steerable Wheels, Brake Pedals, Levers, Switches, Track Clutches. This configuration remained the preferred choice for number of decades.

Four Wheel Tractors came into picture after the year1960 and their structure is somewhat similar to Small Tractors but have big changes in Design, Supply. Modern Tractors have revolutionized the Agriculture and Tractor Supply mechanisms been improved over the period of time.

Tractor Supply Parts

As we all know, Tractor is an Agricultural machine used to generate High Force working at very low speed. This feature can be accomplished with the help of Tractor Supply Parts. There can be different types of Farm Tractors Parts or Accessories depending upon the Tractor Brand but still there are some common utilities used in all the Brands.

Nowadays, different Types of Tractors are used in various forms but mostly in the Farming Sector. Tractors come in different shapes, sizes and so does Tractor Supply Accessories. The different supply parts working along with this machine makes it a power horse and a must have for doing Agricultural tasks. In Modern Agriculture, this machine fits well into the daily scope of work.

Tractor Engine

One of the most important parts of Tractor Supply is Engine. The older machines used to have Steam Engines but Modern machines have Internal Combustion Engines as source of power. The Steam Engines were not reliable and were dangerous for regular usage. Due to this reason, these types of Engines were discarded.

In Modern Times, Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been used as power fuel but it requires specific set of machinery. So, its scope of usage is very limited. Modern Tractors use Diesel Engines or Bio Diesel as power source. Sometimes Vegetable Oil is also being used wherever possible.

Different Tractors have different Power Outputs. Some Brands produce Tractors for High Yield and are suitable for Big Farms while some machines are suitable for small farms due to less engine power. All these machines provide power in the range of 18-575 HorsePower (HP). Small Tractors have lesser Power Outputs while Larger machines have bigger Power Range.

Tractor Supply Transmission – Old or New

  1. Old Tractors usually had Manual Transmission system with different Gears. Slow & Controllable speed is needed while doing major tasks with these machines. The benefit of slow speed is that Farmers have more control over the activities. These slow running speeds sometimes pose problems in public in the form of Traffic Jam as speedy cars going around find this slow speed a big distraction.

So, different ways have been devised to overcome this Speed Limiting factor & different Brands have their own solutions for this issue. There are few countries that have specifically placed some sign on the Roads displaying No Entry message for Farm Tractors. Some Modern Brands have managed to update speeds around 55 mph.

  1. Old Machines have Unsynchronized Transmission systems which need the tractor to be stopped for changing gears. This results in fuel inefficiency, incurs transmission loss & less engine control.

In Modern Tractors, Unsynchronized systems were replaced by Synchronized Transmission Systems or Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVTs) which is much more fuel efficient & helps to manage speed with given Gear Ratios. Some Old Farm Tractors are still being used & do play important role in the Farming Process.

Front Axle

A Front Axle is integrated on the front end of a Tractor and it carries the stub axle, wheel hubs and wheels. Steering Linkage is attached on the stub axle using which the Tractor can be moved right or left. The moving feature is very important and this part plays a vital role to accomplish the moves.

Power Accessories

The Big Power generated by the Tractor Supply Engines has to be used by the equipment in a productive manner. The Tractor Supply accessories used to re-generate this Power into some useful task completion are called as Drawbar or a Hitch System. It is one of the simplest forms of connecting an implement to a Tractor.

In the old times, Plows & Tilage Equipment was connected to Tractors through Drawbar. Basic Drawbar is generally a Steel Bar connected. This utility could easily be removed from the machine allowing the Machine to be used for other Agricultural purposes. Swinging Drawbar was also used to manage different Agriculture Tasks.

Drawbars were mostly used till mechanization progressed and Hitching Systems replaced them for connecting to these machines. These Machines are used for multiple requirements and Drawbar is still used to connect implements with a Tractor.

Fixed Mount Implements

Some Tractor Supply Companies produced Fixed Mount Equipments which can be directly attached to the Tractor. Such Supply Equipments are Front End Loaders, Row Crop Cultivators, Corn pickers, Corn Planters & Belly Mowers. These Fixed Tractor Supply Utilities are specific to a particular Brand i.e. fixed mount made by a particular brand cannot be attached to Machine of another brand.

These Mounts had another disadvantage of overheads i.e. big time & labor were spent in attaching these mounts and once attached to the system these mounts cannot be easily removed from the system. So, it became difficult to remove these mounts on daily basis. The better use of these mounts was attaching them onto the system for long term usage i.e. during Tillage, Planting or Harvesting.

Hitches

As you know, Hitches are Tractor Supply Parts that leverage the huge power generated by Tractor Engine to perform various Agricultural Tasks. These Hitches are in form of Draw Bars, Three Point Hitches and Quick Hitches. The energy produced is transferred onto the implements by these Hitches.

Tillers, Mowers, Seeders & Plows are attached along with Hitches.

Three Point Hitch is another form of attachment which allows the equipment attached to the system to be raised or moved hydraulically. A Control Lever manages this moving operation. Quick Hitch allows an implement to be connected in a much smooth manner & puts the person in less dangerous position while connecting the implement.

The Three Point Hitches helped the Farm Operations & Implements Attachment process in a big way. Hitches enable easy attachment, detachment of implements to the system thereby minimizing lesser overheads. Most of the Tractor Supply Brands nowadays use these Three Point Hitches or their variations.

Wheel & Tracks

The general Tractor Wheels can be imagined as Two Small Size Wheels in the Front Area & Two Large Size Wheels in the Back Area. The purpose of Large Wheels in the back portion is to provide the machine with great power required for difficult irrigation tasks while the Front Wheels help the machine to move left or right as per the requirement.

The Designs of Tractors have undergone many changes in the last few decades with some companies building Tractor having same front & back angles.

Pedals

The next Tractor Supply part is Pedal. The Modern Farm Tractors are designed to accommodate four or five foot pedals near the floor. The leftmost Pedal is called as Clutch. This Pedal is pressed to manage different operations like stopping the Tractor or shifting gears. In Modern Tractors, a specific Button is placed near the hands which facilitate Clutch functions. The normal Pedal is placed in its position also.

The 2 Pedals on Right part are called as Brakes. The Left Brake Pedal is used to stop the Left Rear Wheel & the Right Brake Pedal is used to stop the Right Rear Wheel. When a sharp turn needs to be taken, then these functions are used by the driver again & again.

The next Pedal on the right side is foot throttle. This can be controlled by hands too & it is done with the help of a lever This Pedal helps the machine to maintain constant speed while performing any field work. The driver feels that he is controlling the machine in the same as an automobile is controlled. This feature is of so much use & in some countries it is mandatory to have this foot pedal on the Tractor. The foot pedal helps control the speed while driving on the road.

The Fifth Pedal is there in front of the Driver’s Seat to prevent the Wheel Slipping while taking a sharp turn. This mechanism is called Rear Differential Lock. This lock makes the outside wheel to run little faster than the inner wheel thereby avoiding any slipping during a turn.

Levers

Many Machine Functions used to be controlled by Levers, but with the advancement in technology, the Electric Switches have taken the place of Levers. Different types of technologies were introduced & Three Point Hitches came into picture. The Transmission work is often controlled by electric switches or is generally controlled by Computers too.

Safety

Safety Parameter is one of the ignored areas in the domain of Tractor Supply or Agriculture. Most of the people do not care for security factors while doing Farming. There are lots of Farming Machines in the Agricultural Sector but Tractors are supposed to be injury pron. Machine overturns are one of the most popular accidents that happen during the Agricultural process.

To safeguard against such incidents, ROPS should be used i.e. Roll Over Protection Structure. If a machine turns over, the driver is saved through ROPS.
